Another house update!

We have cabinets! These pictures are from the kitchen (obviously), but the cabinets are also in all of the bathrooms, as well as the laundry room. They have also completed the painting! :)

34 weeks!

I am 34 weeks pregnant today! (Again, sorry for the crappy picture quality.) I feel like I look bigger this week than I did 2 weeks ago--yay! Its so nice to FINALLY get past all the comments about how I don't look pregnant, how I'm soooo little, blah blah blah. I go back to the doctor on Friday, so, I'm anxious to see how much more I've gained, if any.

I have had the WORST heartburn and indigestion the past couple weeks...I mean, awful. And, nothing helps it. I also have been really craving milk, which is weird because I have never been a big milk drinker. My sleeping hasn't been great, but I'm making it. I'm usually up for at least an hour in the middle of the night every night. I'm looking on the bright side, though: I get lots and lots of thinking and planning done! :)

Finnley moves around so much. She is usually most active in the afternoon, evening, and middle of the night. I can tell that she has dropped--there is soooo much pressure on my pelvis, especially at the end of the day. Its really quite painful to move, and David has to help me sit up because it hurts to much to do it myself. I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions for several weeks now, and, of course, going to the bathroom ALL THE TIME.
Its getting harder and harder to pick Grayson up, carry him, change him, etc. And, he loves to climb on me, which I really have to watch that he doesn't put any pressure on my stomach. It makes me sad that I can't do as much with him as I'm used to. He has been adjusting really well, though.

I guess that's all for now! It looks like we will be scheduling the c-section for January 6, 2012, unless she decides she wants to come sooner. Only 5 more weeks! I can't believe it!!!

15 month check-up

Grayson had his 15 month check-up yesterday. He weighs 27 pounds (75th-90th percentile), is 33 inches tall (95th percentile), and his head circumference is off the charts! I guess he really does have the Bledsoe head! :)
He got 2 immunizations, as well as a flu shot. He didn't love getting the shots (obviously), but he was a happy camper once we got to dinner. :)
We love our not-so-little boy!

32 weeks!

Sorry for the poor picture quality. I am so tired by the time that I remember to ask David to take a picture (and I'm usually in my pajamas, too), that we haven't taken one in weeks! :)

I am 32 weeks pregnant, and I absolutely cannot believe it. This pregnancy has just flown by! I will go to the doctor for my regular check-up this afternoon--hoping I have gained some more weight! Finnley is moving and turning throughout the day, some times it completely catches me off-guard how strong she is! At the last appointment, the doctor said she was growing right on track. I can't wait to meet her!

15 months!

Guess who is 15 months old?!?!  :)

Grayson continues to amaze us every day with how smart he is.  He picks up on things so easily and surprises us all the time with new words, new signs, or new things he seems to understand. 
Some highlights from the past month:

• Grayson says so many words now!  I am sure I can't remember them all, but here is what I can remember: thank you, bye-bye, baby, doggie, cat, mama, dada, uh-oh, hello, love you, diaper, foo-foo; and he will repeat pretty much anything you ask him to.
• He follows 2-step and sometimes 3-step directions.
• When he is tired, he will usually sign "more" and then point upstairs.  If he doesn't independently tell us, all we have to do is say, "Grayson, are you ready to go night-night?" and he will go right to the stairs.  The same for changing his diaper.  We just have to tell him it's time to change his diaper, and he says "diaper" while he's walking to the stairs. 
• He has such a sense of humor!  He does things that he knows he is not supposed to do and then laughs and laughs.  Also, he thinks it's funny to tease us while we are changing his diaper--he will move his legs off to the side at the last minute and then laugh. 
• He now recognizes the way to get to places.  He often points in the direction we are supposed to go, especially if we turn down a new road.  When we drive out to look at our new house, he knows where we are going--as soon as we round the corner, he points and yells!
• He loves going to school! 
• He weighs 27lbs, wears 18-24 month clothes, and size 6 shoes.  He is certainly the same size, if not bigger, as the 2 year olds in his class!  
• Grayson loves to cudddle with his mama.  He especially loves to cuddle while watching "Wheel of Fortune" every night.  Yes, that's right.  WOF is his favorite show.  Whenever he hears it come on, he runs over to sit in the chair with me, claps his hands, and smiles the biggest smile.  So cute!
• He loves to play outside.  I think he would spend every minute of the day outside if he could!
• He loves to dance!  He espcially loves to dance to ACDC's "Back in Black" (which is the ringtone on Daddy's phone).  No matter what he is doing (even if he is crying), he will stop and start dancing the minute he hears that song.
• We are starting to work on Grayson eating with a fork.  Sometimes he does it by himself, other times he doesn't.  I have a feeling he will be a pro at eating completely independently very soon!

I am constantly amazed at the little boy that Grayson has grown into.   He wants to be so independent and gets frustrated if we try to do things for him.  With each day, I can see more and more what a wonderful big brother he is going to be! 

We love you so much, Little Man!!!! 

House update!

In the past week, our house has been sheet-rocked and.....we have a driveway!!  Not only does it look like a house outside, but now it's starting to look like a house inside, too!  :)

Grayson LOVES to play outside!  He will try to run out the door any chance he gets.  :)  So, one day this week, he and Daddy spent some time in the front yard enjoying the mild weather.

Thursday Ramblings

I'm exhausted.

I had my 30 week check-up with Dr. Dewane on Tuesday.  I also got my flu shot and Rogam shot at the appointment. Finnley's heartrate was 144, and the doctor said that she is just perfect as she can be: growing just fine and moving like she should.  I also found out that I gained 4 pounds since my last appointment--yay!  So, I am officially up 3lbs from my first doctor appointment.  So excited!  Now, if I can just keep it up!  :)

Grayson was sick last week....again.  We noticed last weekend that he started having a runny nose and a cough that sounded like it was coming from his chest.  We also noticed he wasn't eating as much as he usually does.  So, I made an appointment with Dr. Catherine for Monday afternoon just to get him all checked out.  David took him, and the verdict was that it was just a cold.  Thank goodness.  BUT, the puniness and bad notes from from school kept coming.  We knew he just wasn't feeling right.  Wednesday night was especially rough--he did not want to go to bed, would not stop crying, kept waking up when he did sleep, and started wheezing.  I made an appointment with Dr. Catherine first thing Thursday morning.  Turns out, it was a sinus infection and a cold...so, we were sent home with breathing treatments and an antibiotic.  David and I split the day on Thursday, so I didn't leave for work until after noon and I got home around 8:30pm that night....to a husband who wasn't feeling well himself.  A stomach bug.  Grayson still wasn't feeling well Friday, so I stayed home all day taking care of him and David.  Thankfully, the boys started feeling well better by Saturday, and it seemed that things were headed back to normal.

David has to fly a certain number of hours in the cock-pit of a FedEx plane each year in order to keep his certification as a flight dispatcher.  This year, he decided to do a quick flight to Ft. Lauderdale and back on Tuesday night.  So, Grayson and I hung out while Daddy was gone.  Grayson missed his daddy like crazy.  By Wednesday morning (he hadn't seen David since Monday night), every word out of the boy's mouth was "Dada!"  It was really cute.  And, of course, Grayson was such a good little boy the whole time.  I had to lie down for a bit because I was having some Braxton Hicks contractions, and Grayson just played and played with his toys.  What a good boy!

David got home around midnight, and I woke up to talk to him.  He mentioned that his ears were really bothering him, and that the pressure from the flight had really hurt him.  By Wednesday morning, he could hardly hear out of his ears.  So, after my meeting, we headed to the doctor.  The verdict: strep throat!  (I was very surprised because he wasn't running a fever and he never mentioned that his throat hurt...but, the doctor said that sometimes the pain from strep throat actually occurs in the ears instead!)  He got a sinus shot to clear up the fluid in his ears (and hopefully help him hear!), and an antibiotic to help clear up the strep.  He also got strict instructions to stay away from Grayson.  Yes, that's right: Grayson had to go another night without seeing his daddy.  :(   David hung out upstairs in the bonus room all night while Grayson and I were downstairs.  I did get him a mask so he was able to talk to Grayson for about 5 minutes--but Grayson was too unsure of what was going on and didn't enjoy it as much as we thought he would.  As of this morning, it appears that David got some good rest yesterday and last night, and Grayson doesn't seem to have any symptoms of strep.  Let's hope it stays that way!  (And, since he has been on an antibiotic for 24 hours, he and Grayson can finally be reunited tonight! YAY!)

They haven't really made much progress on our house this week.  This is the time we were dreading because we knew it would go sooooo slow--waiting for the sheet rock to get done.  I can't believe we are less than 2 months away from our closing date!  I'm not ready!  :)

I guess that's about it.  I am just ready for everything to slow down a bit....who am I kidding, though?!?  Things aren't going to slow down around here for a looooooong time.  Anyway, thanks for checking in on us!  As always, we love you all!

29 weeks and 5 days

How Far Along: 29 weeks (and 5 days!)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I have lost 3lbs! I have started telling people that pregnancy is the best diet I ever tried.  The doctor said that Finnley is doing great, though, so I am okay with having a little belly.  :)

Best Moment this week: The wonderful shower that my wonderful friends and family blessed us with; spending time with Grayson and David

Gender: Girl! Her name is Finnley Elizabeth.

Movement: ALL THE TIME!  She is constantly moving, kicking, and turning somersaults.  It's very obvious when she is moving because my belly moves, too.  She is sitting very low, so I especially feel her in my pelvis--and some days it feels like she is going to fall out!

Food Craving: It really varies from day to day. Some days, I have my heart set on something all day, and then I get it in front of me, and I lose my appetite completely. It has gotten better, though, and I have started being able to eat more each day.  Lately, I have been eating a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, milk, chips, and yogurt. 

What I miss: I miss being able to eat without being sick; sleep

Maternity clothes: Yep! Mostly maternity clothes.  She is so low right now that pants are uncomfortable...even maternity pants, but I have a few pairs of maternity jeans that are comfy.  I wear a lot of sweats and t-shirts when I am at home.

Sleep: I am tired all the time. But, that doesn't mean I get much sleep! I have been waking up throughout the night multiple times, each and every night...sometimes I can fall back asleep, sometimes I can't. I can tell when it's 2:00pm every day, though, even when I don't have a clock--that's the time I get the most tired!

What I am looking forward to: hearing her heartbeat at the next doctor's appoitnment, shopping for her, designing her nursery (in our new house!!!)
