5 months old!

Finnley,
Today you are 5 months old!!

I can't quite figure out how time has gone so quickly that you are now a 5 month old little girl.  It's passing even faster with you than I ever thought it could.  It truly feels like just yesterday that we brought you home...and now, you are our sweet little girl with such a happy personality!!!

At 5 months, you:
  • Eat four 7-8 ounce bottles each day.  You eat every 4 hours, just like clockwork.  We started you on baby food today.  You never really liked oatmeal, but so far, you love sweet potatoes!!
  • Weigh 15lbs 5ounces.  You are long and skinny.  You wear 3-6 month clothes, size 2 diapers during the day, size 3 diapers at night, and newborn shoes (when you wear shoes...you prefer being barefoot)!
  •  You love to sit and see what's going on around you.  In fact, if I try to lay you on the floor, you want to roll over to your stomach and push yourself up to see what's happening.  You spend a lot of time in you bumbo chair: watching us make dinner, watching your brother play, or watching TV.  You are really into Thomas the Train, just like your brother.  :)
  • You are always on the go.  You NEVER sit still!! You either want to have something in your hand that you can bang on your chair or your exersaucer, or you want to be in your bouncy where you just jump, jump, jump.  Anyone that has ever held you has commented on what a work out you give them with wanting to move so much.
  •  You can roll over from your stomach to your back and you back to you stomach. You are trying to sit up, but you move around so much you can barely sit still to even sit up!  You are babbling, screaming, laughing, and cooing like crazy.  You are a very happy baby!!
  • Your brother is your favorite person ever.  You watch and watch him and you think he is the funniest person.  And, goodness, does he adore you.  He loves to give you hugs and kisses.  And, he laughs when you try to pull his hair.  :)
  •  You have been pretty fussy at school for the past couple weeks.  You are teething, and your poor gums just hurt you so badly.  :(  You drool allllllll the time, so we always need to make sure to have a bib on you.

  •  You are sleeping through the night!  You usually go to bed around 7:30pm and will sleep until around 6:30am each morning.  You have started to sleep on your stomach, which makes Mommy and Daddy very nervous.  You want to have your lovie and your foo-foo with you, or you won't go to sleep at all.  You also like to have your belly tapped when you're tired--it helps relax you.  You haven't been napping during the day since you've been teething, so it's been pretty wild each night with trying to keep you and you big brother happy.  :)

  • You hate your carseat, but you love to go for walks.  I put a mirror up in my car so you could see yourself, which has helped a little with you not crying when we ride.  Your favorite part of the day is our drive to school in the morning.  Grayson keeps you quite entertained and I can always hear you laughing and talking to him.
Finnley, your daddy and I love you so so much, and we are so thankful for you.  We often talk about how we were worried that we had enough love in our hearts for a second kid--but, somehow, we did.  And, our hearts overflow for you!!!  You are always smiling and happy, and you are such a good baby.  When we go out in public, people always comment on how cute you are, and on the big bow that Mommy always has in your hair.  You are a diva princess already!  We can't wait to watch you grow even more--we so look forward to the many more memories to come!!

Fair on the Square

Yesterday, we went to Fair on the Square in Collierville. We got Finn a super cute Tennessee outfit, and Grayson got to ride on a train!!

We had so much fun!

4 months old!

Finnley is 4 months old today!  Where in the world has the time gone?  It literally feels like just last week that we brought her home to our brand new house.

Finnley, you are such a special litte girl, and you most certainly are Mommy and Daddy's gift from Heaven.
You go to the doctor on Thursday for your 4 month check-up, so I will know how much you weigh then.  You wear size 1 diapers (but not for much longer!), and 3-6 month clothes.  Just this week, you have started wearing some of your 6 month summer outfits.  You are long and skinny, that's for sure!

You eat 7 ounces every 3-4 hours in the daytime.  We are starting you on rice and oatmeal this week.  YAY!

You go to sleep around 7:30pm each night and wake up around 6:30am each morning.  You are always so happy and smiley in the morning!  I love it! You love going to daycare.  Everyone comments about what a happy and well-behaved baby you are.  And, you LOVE your big brother!  He can make you smile and laugh like no one else.

You aren't really on a nap schedule, but you usually take about 3 short naps a day.  I think there is just too much going on around you--you are our Nosey Nellie--and you want to see everything that is going on!

You have really started enjoying playing with toys lately.  You love being in the excersaucer and on your play mat.  Mostly, though, you just love to watch Grayson play.  :)  You love when we go on walks each night, and you would rather I hold you in the carrier than ride in the stroller.

You have started screaming and you think it's hilarious.  You will scream at the top of your lungs and then laugh.  And, you LOVE when Daddy tickles your feet.  You always laugh with a big sweet belly laugh.

You can do baby push-ups, and you can roll over from your stomach to your back.  You are trying soooooo hard to roll over from you back to your stomach, but you can't quite do it yet.  We are starting to work with you on sitting up--you usually just get really mad about that, though.

You are a sweetheart, and Daddy and I are so thankful for you!  Your are a little diva, and you have the best little attitude face!  :)  You are happiest when you can be in the center of whatever is going on.  We love you so much, sweet girl!
